All proceeds go through the Harmony Historical Society and directly and equally benefit two specific restoration projects:
Van Nest - Hoff - Vannatta Farmstead
Harmony Township, New Jersey Harmony Historical Society The Van Nest - Hoff - Vannatta Farmstead is a remarkable historic site representing three centuries of architecture, rural life and agricultural practices. The Farmstead was first settled in the 18th century prior to the Revolutionary War and was in its heyday throughout the 19th century and early 20th century. It was saved from demolition by Harmony Township and was subsequently listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005. The site is owned by the State of New Jersey and leased by Harmony Township. The volunteer effort and stewardship is spearheaded by Harmony Historical Society, a not-for-profit formed as an Officially Recognized Friends Organization of the Farmstead. Shimer Mansion
Pohatcong Township, New Jersey Pohatcong History & Heritage Society Shimer Mansion is a substantial three-story Italianate country residence constructed by banker and gentleman farmer William B. Shimer in 1850. The mansion was the focal point of a 120-acre estate along the Morris Canal and became the north end of Pohatcong Township when it was formed in 1881. The property remained in the Shimer family into the 20th century. In the 1930s, the farm was subdivided and developed for a residential subdivision named "Shimer Manor" and the "Shimer School". The house and property were vacated and fell into disrepair by the 21st century. In 2015, the Carpenter family donated the property to the Pohatcong History & Heritage Society and it was deemed eligible for listing on the National Register of Historic Places. Restoration is underway and showcased during the annual Garden Tour and Historic House Tour. The building, when completed, will serve as a community center and gallery for local artists.
